The Reverend Dr. James P. Baylark

 

The Rev. Dr. James Baylark is first and foremost an ordained Baptist preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and is the humble Pastor of First Community Baptist Church in Desert Hot Springs, California.   He comes from a long history of preachers and activists. He is married to Crystal Baylark and together they have three children.


Dr. Baylark is the son of the late James Matthew Baylark and the late Lucy Baylark Harris and is a native of St. Louis, Missouri.  He has been featured on National and International television, which includes, CNN, C-SPAN, TCT Christian Network, TCT-Today, Prayer on Purpose, Ask The Pastor, MSNBC, CBS, KNBC, KABC, K-Cal 9, American Perspective, Evening Edition, Tony Brown’s Journal, Between The Lines, Memphis Review, Straight Talk, and Politics and Religion,

 

 

Dr.  Baylark is a lifetime member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (started by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.); a member of the NAACP and a member of the 100 Black Men Inland Empire, Inc.  

 

Over the years he has been associated with the National Baptist Convention, Progressive Baptist Convention, American Baptist Churches, California State Baptist Convention, Valley District Association, and the Tri-County District Association.  

 

He has lectured at San Francisco State University, University of California Riverside, Norfolk State University, Fresno State University, Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky State University, Lincoln University, Truman State University, Riverside Community College, Santa Ana College, Los Angeles Harbor College, San Jacinto College.  

Dr. Baylark served his country in the United State Army at Fort Riley Kansas and was honorably discharged.  He has been the recipient of hundreds of awards, medals, and certificates; Role Model of The Year, SCLC Chapter of The Year, Who’s Who in America, Pastor of The Month, Man of The Year, Angel Tree Award, NAACP Freedom Fighter Award, Lorrain Watt's Community Involvement Award, NAACP Religious Award, and in 2007 received the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Lifetime Achievement Award
